Gathering with the Governor | Taylor Brown 31 LLC

Producing a film that balances authenticity, leadership, and storytelling is what drives my work as a professional videographer based in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. “Gathering with the Governor” was an opportunity to document a rare conversation between Maryland Governor Wes Moore and the talented student journalists of Bishop McNamara High School’s WMAC Broadcast Team. The goal: capture leadership lessons through the lens of the next generation of storytellers.

Purpose-Driven Storytelling

The project’s purpose was clear: highlight authentic dialogue between students and a state leader, keeping the emotion of a live auditorium while producing a polished, web-ready record. Every production choice—from mic placement to camera angle—was designed to preserve the voices of young journalists asking thoughtful, courageous questions.

Production Approach

I filmed the moderator Lou Holder for both the introduction and closing segments, integrated stage footage, and mixed multiple audio sources to maintain clarity across a dynamic space. The result is a piece that feels journalistic yet cinematic—tight pacing, natural dialogue, and a clear focus on connection.
